Don't like the US of A?

If you are one of those desis who is complaining about life in the United States and yearns to go back to India, my question to you is...

"Why dont you go back?"

If you want to say that there is more money here, and that you can live a better life (read luxurious and easy) here, then my question to you is...

"What is it that you want? The feeling you had when you were at "home" or the luxuries?"

If you think that you dont want to raise your kids here because the culture in the United States is really bad, my question to you is...

"Why were your kids born here?"

If you say that you wanted your kids to be American citizens, my question to you is...

"Why? If the US is so terrible for you, why make them citizens of a terrible country? You are an Indian citizen, why can't they be Indian citizens too?"

If you say that you want your kids to be able to come back later for a good education, my question to you is...

"So you do recognize that there is something good about the education system here and that it does not need to reshuffle?"

Why complain if you made the decision to come here? Was it a bad decision? If yes, then rectify it and go back. You need to pay off student loans? Wont be so bad..work full time for three years, dont get married, dont incur any more debts, and lo! your problems will be solved. Then go back! Attracted towards the greencard? Want to stay more so that you can have one and leave? Why? Since the US is not doing you any good anyway. Oh..maybe the greencard is not enough so you need to work towards a citizenship and then leave.....just in case you want to come back, you can? Why? You don't like the US of A right? Oh...you like it but like India better? Well, what is it that you want? Don't know? Think about it. And if you finally make a decision to stay here and not go back to your motherland, stop complaining and stick to your decision.

Thanks, and live life to the fullest.

Addendum: A clarification I would like to make. Miss India by all means. It was/is home after all. Complain about the cons here. After all, nothing is perfect. My pet peeve is people who DETEST the USA and criticize it to shreds and yet conjure up excuses to not go back.

the ppl who comment about US of A not being in fav list are those who have enough time to think about stuff like it....but worst are those who spend time on analyzing it and posting on blog sites....it reflects that the person analyzing stuff like this has financial and educational security.

EDUCATIONAL SECURITY = A PERSON WHO STUDIES IN A HIGH PROFILE COURSE (WHICH HE OR SHE THINKS IS HIGH PROFILE), THE COURSE DOES NOT KEEP HIM OR HER BUSY ENOUGH AND SO THE PSEUDO HIGH PROFILE PERSON INDULGES IN SELF POTRAYAL OF BEING A SUPER HUMAN TO HIS OR HER FELLOW STUDENTS.

FOR EXAMPLE: A PHD GUY / GIRL SHOWING OFF HIS / HER IMPORTANCE TO OTHER UNDERGRADUATE / GRADUATE STUDENTS BY HAVING A CAR, USING INDISTINCTIVE ENGLISH VOCABULARY, GETTING OVER ANALYTICAL, CONSTANTLY REMINDING OTHER OF HIM/HER HAVING A FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FROM THE UNIVERSITY AND BECOMING SELF PROCLAIMED MAD HOUSE MEMBER.

BUT IN REALITY HE/SHE HAS LOT OF TIME TO DO NOTHING AND HIS / HER FUTURE HAS NO CAREER AND SO THEY KEEP ON PRLONGING THEIR EDUCATION.

PUHLEASE.....COME OUT OF YOUR AGE AND FACE THE REAL WORLD, AFTERALL ITS NOT JUST MADE UP OF TUNNAS N SULZS N JHAMPDAS.....N PETWARLALS....

GET A LIFE...DO YOUR OWN HOMEWORK!! (NOT TUNNA)

Hey! Random blog hopping brought me to yours, and I just wanted to say that you really do write out your thoughts real good! Especially the way you end up the post with a message! But, by any chance, is it true that you do have difficulties voicing these thoughts to people who make you think this way? That's the way I thought. Anyways, happy blogging days ahead!

whats wrong with complaining a little bit or more than a little bit///i am sure you have complained about your significant other, or parents or relatives or friends...you dont leave them and go..the topic of your analysis should be what these guys who complain should be actually doing since we know they are not going to leave. (i am one of them)..you can make this country(if not your own) a better place to live for your "citizen" kids///so i have a complaint about the content of the post..so what did i do..i didnt bitch about the author but gave my two cents on what it could have been..sometimes complaints inspire others!!do you agree?

Hmm.....may be this might help.

Why do folks still Stop at a Red Traffic light, in US of A, even though its 3:00 AM, middle of nowhere around civilization.

Why do folks, break every chance of stopping at Traffic light, in India, even in the peak hours.

You have asked very pertinent questions to whiners. I think the confusion partly results from our inability to clearly define what we really want in the end. Well, easier said than done and as far as my own case is concerned I never came to US with the intention of settling down. It is the quality of education that mattered the most. Of course there were some unexpected changes in my perception brought about by the reality of life here but I think you need to stay away from your home country to realize its worth.

Of course the money, clean environment and Discliplined traffic in USA is temptin but so is the Family bonds in India...One can't have everythin and its hard to make a chocie..easier said than done!
