A disclaimer

By no means is this plagiarism.

Should have had a disclaimer a long time ago but stumbled upon one by chance today.

With due respect to Abhinav, am posting one of his blog links here. Very well said. Applicable to all my readers. For a second, just imagine I wrote it..

Thank you, and keep reading (even those who dont want to comment!)!

Instead of writing disclaimers AFTER writing the post, and putting the horse after the cart, it's more prudent to think before you write, taking care not to tread on someone's toes, and then trying to clean up the mess that happens thereafter.

Infact, the need to write a disclaimer itself conveys that you KNOW you're going to ruffle someone's feathers by your writing..

A person's Original ideas do clash with other people's work but the world fails to recognize the concept of COINCIDENCE. So, the use of a disclaimer before or after an event does'nt make a difference.
Good!

Wow Wolf21281.. looks like you take this blog very VERY personally. I wonder why. I suppose according to you the reason most movies carry a disclaimer stating that "any resemblence to anyone living or dead is purely coincidental", is because they know they are going to "tread on some toes". (Please excuse the excessive use of quotation marks.) Try to open your mind to the possibility that the blog is fictional or at least, that it has nothing to do with your toes or the toes of anyone you're close to. Read the blog objectively and enjoy it!

My words underneath Psychobabble itself is a disclaimer without the "title". The second disclaimer has been added just to reiterate the fact and remind people about it.
Cheers!

..that's my point exactly - why there be a need for disclaimers in the first place?? What does it accomplish? Does writing a few words before or after give you a right to act anyway you want? write anything you want?? Just as cigarette companies write 'Statutory warnings' on their product packs, and all alchoholic beverages have 'According to the surgeon general..' thing written on them.

Mr. Wolf...i think u have a serious issue...let people use their freedom of speech rightly!..
and if you have so much of an issue with disclaimers in the first place...mayb you should use one for using a dictionary term "wolf" as your name or copyright your own name so that no one else uses it!...

I agree with tunnabhai. Wolf, you're just soooo hung up on this! You might want to lighten up a little! There are a million issues in this world and you decide to be so passionate about DISCLAIMERS. Nice! Well, you've got a right to express yourself. Just remember that all other people have a right to express themselves too.
If you're hell bent on believing that somebody wants to 'step on your toes' or 'ruffle your feathers', nobody can change your mind. That's purely your issue, and not of the person writing the blog.
